to start discussing possibilities of a merger NOW if they have not already been looking into it. GWA just introduced its home grown flagship SUV (they call it CUV) which is expected to be marketed at around RMB120k (USD14k):

A very impressively looking truck in and out.
Cherry has started setting its foot into US market but tehre is no truck and SUV in its portfolio. If these two companies can operate under one single brand name, there will be better chance for both to market their products in US: if they can introduce a full line of trucks and cars at the same tiem they will have a better chance to reach the scale that ensures a nation wide dealer network is profitable. It will also reduce the marketing cost for both companies becasue consumers are more likely to buy a car from you if you are big.
